Sustainability Policy

Since its establishment in 1980, the FANCL Group has consistently grown as a company that solves social issues. Our founding philosophy was to "resolve the world's 'ills' with a sense of justice," and this philosophy has been thoroughly carried forward to the present day.
In 2018, we formulated the "FANCL Group Sustainable Declaration: Hope for the Future" to express our will to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, based on the medium-term management plan "Advance 2023" - Overcoming Adversity and Moving into the Future - we will redefine the key issues for the Group and promote specific initiatives in line with the themes of the issues.

Building a Bright Future Together

Based on our founding philosophy of “eliminating all the ‘negativities’ with a sense of justice”, FANCL will face the “concerns about the future” such as the global environment and social issues, creating “hope” together with our stakeholders.

UN Global Compact and SDGs

In April 2013, FANCL signed the United Nations Global Compact and has been conducting its business activities with respect to the 10 principles required of participating companies. In addition, in June 2018, we formulated the Sustainable Declaration: Hope for the Future, and are working to achieve a sustainable society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in September 2015.

Taking into consideration the conservation of the natural environment and measures to address climate change in all aspects of our corporate activities, we uphold “reduction in CO2 emissions” “reduction of plastic use,” “sustainable procurement,” and “resource circulation (handling of waste materials)” as key issues, set quantitative targets, and lead to concrete actions.

With the aim of achieving the FANCL Group VISION 2030 “Make the world healthier and more beautiful and become a company that is loved around the world,” we have set the “extension of healthy life expectancy,” “response to basic nutritional needs,” and “improvement in the quality of life (QOL)” as key issues, making a contribution through our unique products and services.
