Initiative report
Promoting adequate intake of basic nutrition through products
Offerings that provide the essential nutrients needed for health
Solving health issues originating from food, such as physical or mental health problems caused by a lack of nutrients, requires an improvement in the nutritional balance provided by daily diets.
We are working to solve nutritional issues by proposing supplements that support the effective intake of nutrients that are not being sufficiently provided by food. We also supply food products such as Hatsuga Genmai rice and kale juice from a desire to make everyday meals even healthier.

Base POWER

Addressing sugar and fat content in food
We research, develop and sell products designed to address the high sugar and fat content common in modern diets. The Calolimit series is a functional food range focusing on postprandial blood glucose and postprandial triglyceride levels.

Promoting adequate intake of basic nutrition through social activities
FANCL SDGs course -- Nutrition course
Since the fiscal year ended March 2022, we have been carrying out FANCL SDGs Seminars. These are held in elementary, junior high, and high schools in Kanagawa Prefecture and surrounding regions to teach children about the SDGs.
The course on nutrition explores the themes of food loss and nutritional problems, with lectures on food differentials between Japan and other places in the world and on nutritional issues faced by young people in Japan. It communicates the importance of the essential nutrients required by younger generations.

Food education through Kodomo Shokudo
In December 2022, we participated in the Kanagawa SDGs Partner Meeting hosted by Kanagawa Prefecture and in May 2023, we became a sponsor of a Kodomo Shokudo initiative (an initiative that provides low cost or free meals for children) in Yokohama.
We have also become an SDGs Partner of Okinawa Prefecture, which is facing considerable issues concerning nutrition, and since October 2023, we have been holding regular food education classes through Kodomo Shokudo initiatives in the prefecture.
In addition to providing food, Kodomo Shokudo initiatives are also a venue for community exchange and food education. We hold food education classes that use Hatsuga Genmai rice and kale juice to help children, and members of the community these children are part of, to gain knowledge regarding food and nutrition and to learn how to choose well-balanced foods. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to the creation of healthy bodies for the future.
In the fiscal year ended December 2024, we promoted joint initiatives with like-minded companies, such as Kirin Beverage Company and Lion Corporation, to co-sponsor courses that leverage each company's strengths. We will continue to actively promote joint initiatives to address challenges.

Children's food education using Hatsuga Genmai rice and Kale juice
Kirara Hoikuen employs multiple dieticians to actively provide food education at its nursery schools across Japan, and it has been using FANCL's Hatsuga Genmai rice in the meals provided to children for over 20 years. Since 2022, we have been collaborating with the company to hold a contest for delicious menu ideas using Hatsuga Genmai rice and kale juice that children and their parents can enjoy together.
