FANCL established the Advertising Expression Review Working Group in March 2018, followed by the Advertising Monitoring Committee in November 2023. Both organizations meet as required to review the appropriateness of advertising in terms of several important questions. These include: "Are the expressions easy for customers to understand?" "Could the expressions be misunderstood by customers to suggest that the product is better or more beneficial than it actually is?" and "Do the advertising expressions violate relevant laws and regulations?" Outside experts are also consulted as necessary to avoid in-house bias within the review process. The organizations also work to quickly detect relevant government and industry trends, and then spread this information internally.
Additionally, we hold monthly advertising study sessions for employees to promote responsible marketing and familiarize them with relevant laws and advertising expression norms. These sessions provide monitoring and instruction based on advertising laws and regulations and internal guidelines.
Going forward, we will work to enhance the quality of our advertising expression and strive to practice responsible marketing that not only complies with relevant laws and regulations, but which also empowers customers to select products with peace of mind.
