We have established the nine key drivers for enhancing employee engagement as duties, personal growth, health, support, human relationships, recognition, philosophical strategy, organizational culture, and environment. We use an Overall Evaluation of Workplace Enthusiasm carried out by Sompo Health Support Inc. to regularly measure employee engagement and then implement a PDCA cycle to make improvements to the Group and workplaces. Our aim is to improve employee engagement in a way that enhances corporate value.

Method for evaluating employee engagement
The Overall Evaluation of Workplace Enthusiasm is an evaluation of stress check results that can provide a comprehensive understanding of the situation regarding our nine key drivers. It is an evaluation that measures physical and mental health, work engagement, workplace unity, and whether or not harassment is taking place, based on the results of an analysis of factors such as human relationships and organizational culture using the New Brief Job Stress Questionnaire (New BJSQ).

Initiatives to enhance employee engagement
We aim to enhance employee engagement through the three initiatives in our human resources strategy, namely developing human resources, utilizing human resources, and fostering an organizational culture.

Utilizing human resources |

Fostering an organizational culture |
By fostering an organizational culture based on our HR Philosophy, we aim to realize energetic workplaces where motivated employees with different strengths can demonstrate their various personalities and capabilities, and environments that showcase high performance in terms of beauty and health. |
Monitoring through fixed point observation
We use the Overall Evaluation of Workplace Enthusiasm to carry out an annual analysis on how the results of the various initiatives outlined above are affecting employee engagement. We then invite experts to give seminars to the general managers and managers of each department based on the results of this analysis. Discussion between managers from different departments is then used to develop initiatives to further boost employee engagement. The Personnel Department and the Health Support Office, which is responsible for health and productivity management, follow-up on the progress of these initiatives.
Vision for a beneficial cycle of employee engagement

An improvement in employee engagement will ultimately lead to an improvement in human productivity, increasing the amount of profit generated per employee. This profit is then returned to employees with the aim of further raising employee engagement and enhancing corporate value.
