Recognized as a METI Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2023 (White 500) for the seventh consecutive year (March 9, 2023)

This is the seventh consecutive year that FANCL has been recognized as a White 500 company in the large enterprise category of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations certification system. The certification system recognizes companies with excellent health management initiatives that consider and strategically implement employee health management from a managerial perspective.

Recognizing that the health of our employees is the foundation of everything we do, we have adopted the slogan, "The greatest testament is for us to be beautiful and healthy." We are promoting a health-first culture and good-quality management. We consider the improvement of employee performance to be a health management issue for our managers, as the average age of our employees rises and the mandatory age of retirement is extended. We aim to be a company that improves work engagement and allows employees to maximize their performance with a high level of morale.

Gold Award at the Cancer Ally Awards 2022 (December 7, 2022)

For the third year in a row, FANCL received a Gold Award in the Cancer Ally Awards hosted by Gan-ally-bu, a private sector project that aims to realize a society and workplaces where it is easier for people receiving cancer treatment to continue to work. This award recognizes FANCL as a company that has declared its commitment to being an ally of cancer patients and which is carrying out initiatives that have been evaluated as particularly excellent in terms of building a corporate culture that understands the need to balance work with cancer treatment, creating a work environment where it is easy to talk about the subject, and providing appropriate systems and consideration.
FANCL will continue to contribute to the realization of workplaces and society where everyone can work enthusiastically.

FANCL was selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization. The certification system for Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations recognizes companies with excellent health management initiatives that consider and strategically implement employee health management from a managerial perspective. This is the sixth consecutive year that FANCL has been recognized as a White 500 company in the large enterprise category.
FANCL will continue to implement the FANCL Group's Declaration of Health Management slogan, "The greatest testament is for us to be beautiful and healthy," based on the four pillars of work-style reform, rest-style reform, measures for mental health and measures for physical health, and each and every employee will continue to work on health management.

Class AAA accreditation in Yokohama City’s Yokohama Health and Productivity Management Certification 2022 (February 7, 2022) for third consecutive term

As a company that considers health promotion from a managerial perspective and strategically implements health management, FANCL has received Class AAA accreditation in Yokohama Health and Productivity Management Certification 2022 from Yokohama City for the third consecutive term.

The Yokohama Health and Productivity Management Certification period is two years.

Gold Award at the Cancer Ally Awards 2021(November 29, 2021)

For the second year in a row, FANCL received a Gold Award in the Cancer Ally Awards hosted by Gan-ally-bu*, a private sector project that aims to realize a society and workplaces where it is easier for people receiving cancer treatment to continue to work.
This award recognizes FANCL as a company that has declared its commitment to being an ally of cancer patients and which is carrying out initiatives that have been evaluated as particularly excellent in terms of building a corporate culture that shows understanding in regard to balancing work with cancer treatment, creating environments where it is easy to discuss the subject, and providing appropriate systems and consideration.
Fancl will continue to contribute to the realization of a workplace and society where everyone can work actively.

Recognized as a METI Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2021 (White 500), the fifth consecutive year (March 4, 2021)

FANCL was recognized as a Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2021 in the Large Enterprise Category (White 500), the fifth consecutive year it has achieved White 500 status, under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nippon Kenko Kaigi. This status was awarded in recognition of exceptional health and productivity management carried out in coordination with health insurance associations. We have a particularly high ratio of female employees, at 69.0%, so as a new initiative, we have continued to carry out level-based training on women’s health to encourage understanding of women’s health issues among male employees.
We have also introduced a health management system which has been highly evaluated as a tool for maintaining and enhancing health, as it enables us to provide detailed health management tailored to each and every employee, as well as to discourage smoking and continuously promote workstyles that take work life balance into account, among other measures.
We recognize employee health as an important part of the foundation that supports our business activities, and we will continue to practice health and productivity management going forward.

Gold Award at the Cancer Ally Awards 2020 (December 2, 2020)

We received a Gold Award in the Cancer Ally Awards 2020 hosted by Gan-ally-bu*, a private sector project that aims to realize a society and workplaces where it is easier for people receiving cancer treatment to continue to work. This was the third round of the award since the Cancer Ally Awards started in 2018. The Gold Award recognizes FANCL as a company that has declared its commitment to being a cancer ally and that is carrying out initiatives that have been evaluated as particularly excellent in terms of building a corporate culture that shows understanding in regard to balancing work with cancer treatment, creating environments in which it is easy to talk, and providing appropriate systems and consideration.
*The Gan-ally-bu is a private sector project that aims to realize a society and workplaces where cancer patients can work with vitality while undergoing treatment.

Recognized as a METI "Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2020 (White 500)", the fourth consecutive year (March 2, 2020)

FANCL was recognized as a Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2020 (White 500), the fourth consecutive year it has achieved White 500 status, under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nippon Kenko Kaigi. This status was awarded in recognition of exceptional health and productivity management carried out in coordination with health insurance associations.
We have a particularly high ratio of female employees, at 69.0%, so in fiscal 2020 we introduced level-based training on women’s health to encourage understanding of women’s health issues among male employees. We also introduced a system for subsidizing influenza vaccinations. Other initiatives for maintaining and enhancing health that were evaluated highly in fiscal 2020 included efforts to encourage workstyles that take into account work-life balance through the Group-wide introduction of a flextime work system.
We recognize employee health is the foundation of all our activities and we will continue to practice health and productivity management going forward.

FANCL certified as a White 500 company in 2019 (February 21, 2019) the third consecutive year it has achieved White 500 status under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

FANCL was recognized as a "Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2019 (White 500)", the third consecutive year it has achieved White 500 status, under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nippon Kenko Kaigi. In August 2017, the FANCL Group "Declaration of Health Management" was formulated, and since then, the company has been conducting various health and productivity management initiatives. Specifically, FANCL has established the "Health Support Office", a specialized department to support the mental and physical health of employees, and increased the number of public health nurses with the establishment of the office. We have also introduced a health management system that enables the centralized management of the health status of each and every employee, further enhancing our ability to provide appropriate advice both from mental and physical aspects, and strengthening primary prevention. In addition, as a part of work style reform, FANCL has expanded the scope of application of the flextime work system and introduced the "refresh leave" system as an initiative to promote the acquisition of paid leave. This initiatives were recognized, leading to our certification once again in fiscal 2019. Going forward, we will continue to further promote health and productivity management.

■2018

Received [4.5 star] rating in the Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey (November 19, 2018)

FANCL was awarded 4.5 stars in the "2nd Nikkei Smart Work Management Survey" that selects leading companies who take on the challenge of revolutionizing productivity through work style reform.

Yasushi Nishijima awarded the fiscal 2018 "Ageless Award" (September 12, 2018)

Yasushi Nishijima (age 85, working until March 2018) who served as a FANCL technical advisor, was awarded the "Ageless Award" by the Cabinet Office recognizing elderly individuals who live free, vibrant lives exercising their own responsibility and capabilities without concern for their age.

Mr. Nishijima has had a long career in Japan's cosmetics industry as an expert on cosmetic ingredients, and has served as an extraordinary member of the Investigative Commission on Standards for Cosmetic Ingredients of the "Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council" and Chairman of the Nomenclature Sub-committee of the Committee of Japanese Nomenclature of Labeling Name of Cosmetic Ingredients of the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association.
After joining FANCL at age 70, he generously imparted his extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients to his juniors both inside and outside the company, giving appropriate advice and continuing to play an active role in his field of expertise even after age 80, contributing to the guidance and development of junior employees.

Ageless Life

It is important for elderly individuals to live free, vibrant lives (ageless life) exercising their own responsibility and capabilities without concern for their age, and to live full, enjoyable lives while maintaining a connection with society. However, the social participation of elderly individuals remains insufficient.
The Cabinet Office widely introduces examples of individuals practicing the ageless life and examples where groups actively engage in social participation such as employment and community activities as reference for models of living for generations about to enter the elderly generation. Awarded the "2018 Nikkei Smart Work Awards Special Jury Prize" (February 23, 2018)

FANCL's initiatives to enhance the utilization of talent were recognized in the "2018 Nikkei Smart Work Awards" held by the Nikkei Shimbun, and FANCL was awarded the "Special Jury Prize".

Class AAA accreditation in the Yokohama City 2018 Yokohama Health and Productivity Management Certification (December 26, 2017)

FANCL was granted 2018 Yokohama Health and Productivity Management Certification by Yokohama City as a corporation that strategically practices "health and productivity management", considering health promotion, etc. from a business perspective.

Certified as a Kanagawa Prefecture "ME-BYO BRAND" (September 6, 2017)

On September 6, 2017, the "FANCL Educational Healthy Eating Restaurant" and "FANCL Healthy Menu" were certified as "ME-BYO BRANDS".
"ME-BYO BRAND" is a system for certifying exceptional products and services related to the me-byo preventive healthcare industry for the enhancement of me-byo and the creation of me-byo industries.
The "FANCL Educational Healthy-Eating Restaurant" and "FANCL Healthy Menu" were the first restaurant and menu to have been certified as "ME-BYO BRANDs" as leaders in the global "me-byo" preventive healthcare industry.
Going forward, the company will continue to actively contribute to the enhancement of me-byo by proposing restaurants and menus to corporations and municipalities that strive for health and productivity management.

Recognized as a "Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization 2017" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (February 21, 2017)

FANCL was selected as one of the first 330 companies nationwide to be certified under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program created by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in fiscal 2017. In addition to carrying out the items required for health and productivity management stipulated by the Ministry, FANCL's various initiatives including its measures to eliminate the "negatives in society", such as the reduction of ever-increasing national medical expenditure were comprehensively recognized, and the company was certified. The Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program is a system for recognizing corporation that practice particularly exceptional health and productivity initiatives based on initiatives in line with the health issues of the region. In this first announcement of the certification, FANCL was recognized as one of the companies in the "Large Enterprise Category (White 500)".
