■2019

Received the Encouragement Award at the 2019 (18th) Cabinet Office Awards for the Promotion of Barrier-Free and Universal Design

FANCL was presented with awards at the Cabinet Office Awards for the Promotion of Barrier-Free and Universal Design for our makeup seminars for people with visual impairments and Touch-Mark sticker initiatives.
As part of our social contribution activities, we have been holding grooming seminars that primarily target high school students with intellectual disabilities and makeup seminars for the elderly.

Furthermore, in 1998 we came up with Touch-Mark stickers based on input from employees who wanted to eliminate unease and inconvenience for people who are blind or visually impaired. The overwhelming majority of people who develop visual impairments later in life have not been to a school for the blind so many of them cannot read braille. Therefore, instead of braille, we use stickers that have a textured surface.
In addition to the Touch-Mark sticker initiative, since 2013 we have also been holding makeup seminars for people with visual impairments at schools for the blind. These are held at schools across Japan, from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and the number of locations we visit grows each year.
Going forward, we intend to further expand our engagement so that we can continue to help people with disabilities to participate in society.
